Two Mules for Haiti is a North Carolina-based nonprofit (EIN: 84-3250074) whose mission is to assist small-holder farming communities in Haiti. Our programs bring together Haitian farmers, U.S. and Haitian university faculty, student researchers, and experts to design and implement sustainable improvements in agriculture, education, and health care. Haitian community associations co-design and manage projects centered around open membership, fair elections, and financial transparency. Outcomes are measured as quality-of-life improvements derived from the expansion of economic and educational opportunity, better health, improved agricultural productivity, and an enriched natural environment.
We are a purpose-driven organization that prioritizes our mission, the people we serve, and the problems we are trying to solve, not the organization or our board members, all of whom are volunteers. We are committed to carefully designing, continuously monitoring, and fine-tuning programs to ensure the best possible outcome for both social and natural ecosystems. Our organization’s power and voice derive from those we serve, and our goal is to promote positive outcomes for all participants.
